Mobile phones now to help Women - 'Fight Back'

CanvasM, the application developer, seems to be more conscious for country women have designed this application that tracks the app user location and sends on SOS message to the selected contacts.
"We feel the application can help make a woman feel safe, especially given the current law and order situation. The app allows them to press panic button whenever they feel unsafe. It tracks the location using GPS and alerts the right people," CanvasM CEO Jagdish Mitra, (sources: TechGIG). Furthermore, He added to include Delhi Police IT infrastructure so that the app user can also get help with the police.
With the recent Rape cases in Delhi/NCR region, the company have introduced this app as an aid to stop and prevent future cases. Being free-of cost for Delhi/NCR users, the users located outside will have to pay charges @ Rs. 100 per annum. CanvasM CEO Jagdish Mitra disparaging the recent Rape case in Delhi area with a paramedical student he adds, " Such incidents are shameful. The application is our way of contributing to make women feel safe." Seeing the wide usage of Android, Blackberry and Symbian phones this application is available for such mobile phones.
Already downloaded 3000-4000 times, the application is soon to reach desk of India Government.

Its wonderful. Also from now onwards women in distress can call 181, new women's helpline number, The helpline has been set up at Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's office at Delhi Secretariat.
